I’ve had some Baja designs stock piled for years 🤪 so over the last few weeks I’ve been getting some installed. Here’s what I’ve done and will be doing.

1) LP4 ambers on the A pillars using Axia mounts. The mounts are amazing. The power was already there for the mirror lights on each side. I just had to make an ~18” whip with duetch connects on each end to connect the light to factory wiring that’s already ran to the switch.

2) I installed my 5150 Bluetooth whips. Ran the wires along the roof spine and down the intrusion bars. Put the whips on a switch that I added.

3) bought $40 rock lights off Amazon that are Bluetooth and put them on a switch. The wire extensions are run to from behind the dash to each wheel well are already there and the tubing is already tapped for mounting the lights.

4) Mounted an led lit license plate frame.

On the to do list!

1) Install more LP4 behind the grill
2) build rear tail light that fits in the opening with two 6” led strip running lights and brake lights. Also adding two BD S2 lights. One amber and one clear flood (work light).

Nice very nice say are those 35 it’s hard to tell in the photo if so what do you think about the breaking.

Where did you mount the license plate frame and where did you tap into for the power. I bought an LED license plate frame but am struggling to find a good place to mount it.

On the Rangers we just got in I've been cutting angle iron the width of the plate and mounting it under the bed then mounting the plate to that. I don't know if Speed has the plate illumination included in the harness somewhere. Possibly a pigtail near the trailer hitch? If not you should be able to pull it from the tail light ckt without too much trouble.

Just saw this. I’m just going to tap into one of the tail light wires. The Felix sx plate mounts to the flat cross piece above the hitch. Just drilled it and put bolts though all of it.

Thanks for all your info man. I appreciate it as I am far down the line here to get my car.

I went through that same thought process. Originally I was going to mount it in the 2" hitch and run the wiring up to the taillight wiring for power, and I actually put together a mount rig for that. But I later decided not to put it there. So I ended up putting together another rig that I will attach to the rear upper horizontal cage bar toward the passenger side of the car, right where the back of the roof is located. The top of the license plate frame will be positioned about an inch below the bottom of the roof plastic where the roof plastic hangs down. My rig is a combination of Axia products and RAM products, using a 1.5" ball mount and 1.75" diameter tube clamps. I took it over to the local Speed shop here in Havasu to confirm that the placement will work, and it will work perfectly. See pic below for my rig. Please note that I have not yet installed the light that came with the license plate frame, hence the empty hole in the top center of the frame.

Still need to fit this up with lights and get wired. I’ll be offering these for sale (loaded or just the plate) in case anyone didn’t opt for the cheesy rear chase bar. Ieft and right skinny lights will be running, break, and turn signals. The center lights will be one flood and one amber Baja Designs S2.IMG_4421.jpeg

Damn now you tell me my light bar is cheesy. 🤣 Don't give me to hard of time as it's my first chase bar.

Looks very nice. What skinny lights are you going to use for the run & brake lights? Could they be wider to be more visible in the day time?

The skinny lights are something I have sourced. Nothing brand name. I designed this to fill the hole in the back of the roof so it cant go any wider. This is 19" wide.

Now you’ve got me wondering about this cheesy light bar I ordered also I wasn’t going to do it at first, but I ended up. On another note I’m far enough down the line in the Diabalos that I’m not gonna see my car for a while and can probably change things. Use that money to buy a different accessory or two. I plan on looking at some more of these cars very closely as they all come to market with the various accessories.

What do you mean by cheesy? Honestly, I can picture it pretty well, but I’d like to hear you elaborate.

I need to get turn signals and brakes. Kind of like what I did here with at least an amber light in the middle. I was thinking about just doing it myself. I already have one of the switch pro 12 switch units and I’m gonna use that For triggering hazard, left and right turn. If this thing is cheesy, I may as well just do it on my own for less.

I just wasn’t a fan of the cheap china bar led look. Also didn’t have the info on the capability. I still don’t even know if it has turn signals and an amber I can turn off for driving on the street. My car came with a turn signal and hazard switch and the wires are already up top by the bar.

Sorry I should have said taller, not wider. (Not as skinny)

A friend has a RZR, I don’t remember the brand of cage, but it came with a nice fiberglass roof and it has a single thin strip light like that, and it’s hard to see the lights in the day time.

That looks really clean. Is that about the same width as the ones you’re going to use on the Speed light? I’d assume the Speed light will not be as long as you have a smaller area to work with.

Yea the ones for the speed are only 6” long.
