thank you, i have no idea why my post did not put it in like this
That's cool, sounds like an angry buzz saw!
When I’ve heard the Speed in person I did not think it sounded bad for 2 cylinders, compared to the other 2 cylinder UTV’s. I prefer a quiet engine. (I was around and in class 10 when when the Hondas engines were used. Your ears rang for days after a race) Probably why I’m not a fan of the Yamaha in the Arctic Cat XX. High reving & sounds like an angry hornets nest!Honestly, it sounds like Weedwhacker, one of the only bummers, but that being said, when I rode in one in Parker, it didn't quite sound like that
I thought it sounded really good in person as wellIt sounded really good in person at the sand show.
I thought it sounded good to wasn’t too loud . Would be cool to have an accessory that wouldn make it quieter or louder with a button or lever or something. There’s times was fun to be loud and annoying. It’s also fun to drive with a quieter vehicle. You get to see more wildlife out in the desert.I thought it sounded really good in person as well![]()
Haha, interesting. When I had the cash for my Speed and realized it would be years before I get mine I looked to the stock market. After some research I went all in on TSLA and have been adding to my position ever since. I keep up on Tesla on a daily basis. I overhear friends saying they're about to go out of business for lowering their prices. They simply don't get it and haven't done any research.Honestly the hate speed gets makes me like speed more the only other company I’ve seen get more hate is Tesla . I now have a tesla model 3 and love it. After getting it I’ve been called liberal hippie despite being the opposite . I’ve been accused of damaging the environment more than diesel trucks and disrupteing the grid, and having China track me and film others with the car cameras. I tell them that they’re fast and low maintenance and very dependable . Haters tell me I’m gonna have to buy a new 35,000 dollar batterie when it breaks I told him yeah after 500,000 miles I’ll just get a new car.
They say speed going to be outdated but I look at it this way. If it’s built correctly it will never be outdated because it’s reliable. Look at Toyotas. They do major updates every 14 years. Most other trucks are like 4 or 5 years.
When I here the hate I intend to do like the Tesla and speed past the haters and just enjoy driving it.
I couldn’t agree more when you are as informed as we are the haters just sound annoying but I try to keep them up to date with facts but sometimes they don’t want to hear it. Ya I was a bit disheartened by the delivery dates but when I put down my deposit I thought I was just getting a 4 seat artic cat . But what it has become has already surpassed my expectations. And especially with the early pricing locked in I can’t really complain. I do like putting deposits down on things in development I know there is high risks involved but if it helps innovation progress I’m all for trying. I was on of the first people that got a “cool box” which was like a Swiss army tool box with speakers. I had to wait for 2 years for it . I finally got it and love it. But it is no we’re near this kind of prodject I am trilled about the updates because I think I only had about 2 or three email updates on the cool box.Haha, interesting. Same goes for 90% of Speed haters.
Now, I am in no way comparing the two as tho they are one in the same, obviously. But i follow speed like i follow Tesla and i am much more informed than 99.7% of the haters.
I'm still critical of Speed. They have given me 4 delivery date estimates and missed them all. And there's definitely a little smoke n mirrors and side stepping going on right now, pertaining to delivery dates, production location(USA was supposed to be the assembly location. That doesn't appear to be the case at all as of now), and production schedule. Based on the last video Todd Romano made, we were all supposed to have our cars by now...
What people should know is that the speed engine has little in common with other two cylinder engines,When I’ve heard the Speed in person I did not think it sounded bad for 2 cylinders, compared to the other 2 cylinder UTV’s. I do think a stock X3, 3 cylinder is probably the nicest sounding UTV IMO. The Pro R sounds good, but you can’t compare the sound of 4 cylinder’s to any 2 or 3 cylinder engine.
For those who might not of known or forgot. Robby has had a relationship with Magnaflow for years. He went to them and they designed the Cat & muffler for the Speed UTV. In one video a year or more ago, Robby talked about it and thanked them as Carb wanted a change to the Cat and Magnaflow was able to make a prototype to submit within a few days. I don’t know if they are producing the production parts or if someone else will mass produce it for Speed based off the Magnaflow design?
I’m also sure several of the exhaust companies will make a muffler for the Speed, so you can get louder or more obnoxious if you want.
There are companies out there that make a bypass exhaust that operates with a push of a switch which allows you the best of both worlds. There's quiet, then there's louder with some possible additional performance. In the videos, it does sound a bit weed whackerish, however, I'll wait to form my opinion on the sound till I get to hear it in person.I thought it sounded good to wasn’t too loud .
