Hey all, Master #3063 here. Anyone know of an aftermarket planning to make a bench seat for 3 in the rear of my El Jefe? For those that are getting the family wagon this would be good to know..thanks Robby and team for all the hard work y'all have done. So cool to see the evolution of Speed.

Todd touched on this year's ago. Speed will be open to the aftermarket if someone wants to attempt a bench seat, but with the center console over the drive shaft, it's going to be a tricky endeavor.

That said, I'm sure it's going to be some time before aftermarket companies get their hands on one. Center jump seat might be the best option for awhile.

River Dave from RDP is El Jefe 113 and already made arrangements to take his car to Simpson to have a bench seat made and installed. Once that happens you should be able to order from them.

I think adding a bench in the back is going to be more complicated then most think. There is that center console that going to be a problem. That console from what I’m told is why the Speed’s wide seats can’t fit in the rear as they would hit the console. Then under that rear console is where the battery is located. I’m not sure how far back or low the batter sits? Maybe cutting down the console might allow a bench to fit, or maybe the battery will be in the way? Plus if you cut or remove the console you are unsealing the cabin from the rear firewall which will create a negative pressure and you will pull dust in from behind the car. So you will want to find a way to seal it back up.
