just saw he posted on his IG account his dash showing the miles! Cant wait to see his upcoming vids on running e85!!! BUT dont expect it anytime soon as 115 to 120 degrees in AZ. Nobody in their right mind is out doing anything. Cant even jump in swimming pools as the water temps are 90 degrees LMFAO.

Nick says he can't get the speed key yet as it's not available.
This is what I was told as well.
So it seems that SPEED is still putting together the Speed key tune with what perimeters they see fit or comfortable with. Hopefully they don't pull too much out of it. 300hp to the wheels would be great!

I live 40 miles from the coast here in Washington and every summer I have California customers that wait to have their vehicles serviced up here rather than before they leave ( labor rate cheaper) they always say the same thing. The best winter they've ever experienced was a summer in western Washington.

I hate to say it, but recent Dyno testing on E-85 , and now dune destruction Friday thru Sunday in Mongolia? It kinda sounds like they are still playing with the tune. I sure hope the car is reliable with the tune, that was one of the major selling points. Got to say I’m a little nervous. All the warranty is void talk if you use the speed key initially has to make you wonder. I hope they get it dialed in for sure, but I’m a little nervous.
The best summer I experienced was a winter in Alaska…. I hate the heat and the military moved me to Nevada…

If they are figuring out things like the transmission and brakes as they go along, you can be sure the tune still needs some adjusting lol

As of last week I was told the Speed Key was 30 days or so out. No big deal as only. Few cars are ready for it, or even plan to use it. The Speed Key tunes was already done. It’s just been adjusting parameters. Nothing about detuning or anything like that.

They have been learning allot this past weeks as they have had engineering from Asia here and guys like James Lin & Dougans jumping in & helping out.

Remember even the stick tune that Nick has had has tuning parameters backed down. Robby has said the car is more sluggish off the line as they wanted to protect the trans until they were confident in the upgrades. Just a few weeks ago Robby said they were confident and comfortable and they were going to put it back to “stock” on the cars released. I know Nicks car was back at Speed a couple weeks ago for them to download data and they were uploading the new parameters. This has nothing to do with CARB, just reliability and Speeds feeling more confident the previous fixes are right.

As far as what @Ponzi says. I’m sorry but he does not know what he’s saying. Testing in Mongolia is just that. More testing and it’s close to the factory so more Asia engineers can see it In Terrain like you would see here.

Why are they simultaneously delivering cars to customers and still testing? Testing should be complete by now.

Testing is never done and I can't overstate that. When I get my car then it becomes my test lab. I never stop tweaking and adjusting and wouldn't expect Robby to do anything different. In fact he's more extreme than most. If I had a Polaris it wouldn't just be testing. It would be called reengineering and that goes for all the other makes also. How many times have you taken a car to the dealership and found out there was a tune file update. Happened very regular when I worked for FORD.

Unfortunately the original plan of getting 40 final production cars to demo, tour, do dealer retreats and test with went out the window with the pressure to get cars in customer hands. The first 12 knew getting their cars they would be part of the Speed test & development team and those cars will continue to get improved. Deposit holder (not you) will only benefit from this testing. The car I get will look like the first 12, but be nothing like the first 12 under the body, as my car will have each & every little update and refinement, because of the first 12. Oh and don’t worry, everyone will get the updates, even the first 12.

As far as still testing. Everyone still tests. Do you think after Can Am, Polaris, Honda, Kawasaki etc.. after they release a car that testing is over? Heck no! They are actually gather more free data as customers drive and use the cars.

Look at how much free testing Polaris gets, after releasing a car to the public. Every single new model released has had a recall or stop ride recall on them for a problem learned after they sold cars. IMO I think Polaris must plan to let their customers do their testing for them. Or their pre testing is just that poor that they don’t find most of these issues.

First year X3’s power steering was a mess and they later changed PS designs to fix the problem they did not know they had.

Kawasaki had steering spindle upright issues not found until cars were in customers hands.

Ponzi, what do you have as far as a UTV or recreation vehicle? How long have you been going off road or to the desert? What your story or history? What’s your “off road education” so to speak? Please share so I can understand you better.

CI is not the same as reliability testing.
