While I was at the Speed grand opening, I took a look at the Eibach springs on the cars. They are running dual rates on the front and the same size (top/bottom) on the rear. During the weekend test rides, I heard a few people mention bottoming out with 4 people in the car. Might have to take the rear bottom spring up a few pounds. With the rebound adjusters on the shock, you should be able to tune out any possible bucking due to the larger spring.

Gonna be fun to play with the setups.

So some of the customer cars had Eibach springs on them?

No, the pre-production and race cars. Basically, all of the cars at the shop except the productions ones.

The spring rate is determined by a number of factors.
One is the length of the Wire.
Everything ells equal, the longer the wire, the softer the spring.
So, if the springs are made from exactly the same material and spacing, the longer spring will be softer.

I am hoping that they can offer customers spring rates based on weight factors riding in the vehicle and types of driving characteristics. Since eibach makes springs for pretty much everyone and everything on wheels, ride quality should be THE best for Speed factory cars

I don't know if they will give the spring rates. Then you could buy them for 1/2 the price that they are charging. Unless the $1600 includes install???
Other shock tuners remove the spring rates from the springs and act like it is a top secret system that they have developed. Shock/suspension tuning is fun, if you know what you are doing. Or not afraid to make adjustments.

Spring rates are a math equation based on vehicle specifications (dozens of calculators online). Many high end vendors will even offer to calculate the rate for you, as long as you provide weight and measurements. All it would take is one person to do this and then post the rates.

With the amount of tuning available in the shocks, the rate can be slightly off and still perform exceptionally well. No reason to spend 2x the price to have Speed give you springs, that are nothing more than a guess on your vehicles weight. You can literally do the exact same thing….

I just noticed the springs in another post on all the pre-production cars. I’ll be upgrading mine.

You’d think these would be added by default if you ordered the box and spare tire
There's not a manufacture out there that would do such a thing. Speed will set the ride height with those items if ordered (most likely) but I don't see them giving away springs do to your accessories choices.

I believe, what he is talking about is, if you order your car with the Eibach Springs, will they install the heavier springs if your accessories would require it.

If you ordered Eibach springs and had Speed install them like an accessory, then yes I’m sure they would add the heavier spring when they see your accessory package.

But they are not going to have two production spring rates depending on your accessory’s. You chose to load it up, you can chose to buy the aftermarket spring if you feel you need or want them. In most cases a 1/2-3/4 more preload on the stock spring will help adjust your ride hight based on your accessories.
