I have seen several questions and concerns about range and fuel capacity in different threads and I am also very interested in this as well so I wanted to start a thread about it so it will be easier to find the information in one place. Speed has mentioned some ideas but it does not seem to be a priority and their timeline may not align with my needs. I would love to just get the racing fuel cell but the financial commitment is more than I want to allocate. Since I have the Diablo on order it provides me with more flexibility as to location. Both the area behind the seats and the large bed have potential. I would like a rather large tank that could refill the stock tank or a totally separate system that can be switched over to from the drivers seat with a switch. I like the second option because I would set it up as a complete independent system with a redundant fuel pump. I could even imagine one tank with 91 and the other E85 on some occasions. I can't wait to see a Diablo with my tape measure. I know there are many details about the system that would need to be worked out but that is part of the fun.

If I remember correctly Robby said that they would be using the Holly fuel mat. Is that just wishful thinking? I don't want to go back through all the videos but if not I would want to retrofit to that system. On our race truck it gave us an additional 3 to 4 gallons of usable fuel.

I sent robby a message on IG when he was overseas last and he said he just talked to Todd about the additional fuel tank. I hope they figure it out soon so I can order it for my el jefe before it gets here.

Yes in a recent video he referenced Todd talking to him about the extra fuel tank. I too have the El Diablo and can't wait to see what the options are. I'm not racing and don't need to spend the $ on the larger race cell.

knew i forgot to ask him something when i was there. still waiting on the status for the el jefe

I think Todd is the one that works on the accessories. RG and TR might have a little breathing room this week to address the spare tank questions. I know fabricators that can make custom aluminum tanks. In any case, its in high demand.
I think a spare tank should have been available before some of the other accessories.

One of the questions I asked Daniel on Friday night was how do you get a larger tank in the Diablo he said you remove the toolbox storage in the other storage and everything across and they’re going to have a 33 gallon I think he said fuel cell?.

I’m going to weld my own aluminum tank if it all possible, I’ve made plenty of them in the past it won’t be score legal but I put baffles and all kinds of stuff in them on the boats or they take a harder beating than they will in the back of a car. The only thing is I won’t know what is possible until I actually get my Diablo and get underneath all that plastic but I’m sure it’s possible I built the one in my Manx also.IMG_2081.jpegIMG_2084.jpeg71485696591__15010959-6749-47EB-B494-70A61F69D20A.jpeg

I never noticed that the Diablo does not have a fuel door but rather you have to open the storage compartment to access the fuel filler tube.

First off I would not hold my breath on a 30 gal plastic tank for the Diablo. At least not from Speed as it would have to be Carb compliant. They will work with Pyrotech and build a real fuel cell for them to race and sell to you for $3800. This will be listed as a race accessory.

We were told the Aux fuel tank for the Jefe would be available (not installed) come delivery time 2+ years ago, and they have not made it. This will be a Aux tank not a primary tank and not installed by Speed due to carb & epa.

As far as the Diablo filler neck. It’s going to suck to fill. First you have to stand back as the door is going to be folded down. Then you’re going to have to man handle a 5 gallon fuel can while standing 2 feet farther away. Then you will not be able to look down the fill neck to see when you’re close to full. Then when you overfill the fuel is going to spill in the compartment and I’d assume their will be a weep hole for it to drain.

But then I’d wait and let it air out, as you don’t want to close it up and trap that compartment with gas fumes. Think of a boat and how you run bilge blowers to evacuate the fumes.

This car is not 100% customer production ready. I'm certain that's not how they will be sent out to the masses. Plus with it mounted like that there's nowhere for this sticker..
Robby said that Diablo was 100% and that the rear doors were final prototype plastic and by the first of Oct he’s going back to Asia to green light the Diablo production.

It can't be 100%. There will have to be some sort of spill containment required by big brother for it to pass emissions.

This picture is not of the Diablo. This is either the Bandit or El Jefe

I took the picture from a Jefe but they will all 3 have it.
