I clearly recall that as well. RG said it would have a built-in pump and the tank would go under the back seat on the driver's side of the El Jefe. He said it would not be connected in any way to the stock tank.

This is the Aux tank I’m talking about. I spoke to Robby about building this tank pretty much on day one. He said he was definitely going to build something. I even suggested selling it via SpeedSXS so there is no issues with the EPA & Carb with a manufacture selling a Aux transfer tank. Robby said Todd would be the one to handle it, but if it was sold as a racing product and not installed by Speed UTV then they should be fine.

Last year at the Sand show I asked Todd if they are still building the Aux tank. He said someday, but not now. We have enough accessories for these cars. That’s when I said if you don’t I’m sure someone else like Trail Tank will. He said maybe they will? That’s fine.

As Speed UTV owners we should take this into our own hands and work with a manufacture(s) to start getting one made. It will take them a while to set up tooling and start production, but sooner we make contact the better.

Is there anyone in the NW that took delivery and is willing to allow trail tank to mock up a tank under the rear driver side seat and a third location under the front passenger?

If someone is willing, I will coordinate the deal.
I think we will all benefit from this and save us all some money from paying Speed $3k -$4k for a tank (a Honda Telon 4 seat aux tank is 11 ga for $425)

TR said mine will be loaded onto the boat in 2-3 weeks. I'll be in WA and can let them use mine if I get a discount on one, and if I don't trade it for the truck.

Trade hasn't happened yet on the Jefe #522 I haven't flown down to see the truck yet. I'm likely to do the trade but if I don't they can mock up the tank on it. I have a Diablo coming also but won't see it until the spring (hopefully)

I have been in contact with them already, I need a damn UTV to close the deal. No UTV, no deal.
I’m master #439 so I’m hoping it’s on a slow boat from China (Vietnam, it sounds better when you say China).
I currently run BD lights on all the different cars that I race, 5/16, 1200, 1600, chase trucks and a prerunner and now Speed UTV prerunner.

First off I would not hold my breath on a 30 gal plastic tank for the Diablo. At least not from Speed as it would have to be Carb compliant. They will work with Pyrotech and build a real fuel cell for them to race and sell to you for $3800. This will be listed as a race accessory.

We were told the Aux fuel tank for the Jefe would be available (not installed) come delivery time 2+ years ago, and they have not made it. This will be a Aux tank not a primary tank and not installed by Speed due to carb & epa.

As far as the Diablo filler neck. It’s going to suck to fill. First you have to stand back as the door is going to be folded down. Then you’re going to have to man handle a 5 gallon fuel can while standing 2 feet farther away. Then you will not be able to look down the fill neck to see when you’re close to full. Then when you overfill the fuel is going to spill in the compartment and I’d assume their will be a weep hole for it to drain.

But then I’d wait and let it air out, as you don’t want to close it up and trap that compartment with gas fumes. Think of a boat and how you run bilge blowers to evacuate the fumes.

I ordered it for my Diablo and I’m wondering if it indeed is designed for the diablo and if they will install it. I figured both to be true since every accessory is for the cars and they install them but i just saw the last sentence on the pyrotect cell and says won’t be installed. I emailed speed about this and am waiting for a response. I definitely wouldn’t have purchased it if they won’t install it…..

They will not install the fuel cell for you. Goes against their obligations to EPA.

I’d be shocked if they would install the cell. Especially at time of delivery. Maybe you need to bring it back after you have purchased the car so they can install as a race item and not via Speed UTV the manufacturer. You will need to get clarification from Speed.

Trail Tank will need a car to do the design mock up. Years ago they offered me a free tank if I offered them the car when I was wanting them to build a larger stock replacement tank for the RZR 900.

It’s cool as they will also make the tanks in a translucent white so you can see the fuel level in the tank, which is great for an Aux/transfer tank that’s not tied to a gauge.

I've been quiet about group buys but now that you brought it up...... I am sure we (forum members) can work some deals with many vendors for group buys that have a great discount. Once we see what can / will work with our SXS'S we will need to set up a thread for group buys.

Bandit: We will need confirmation of space under the passenger seat, this will be the most likely location for a aux tank Is the space the same as the EJ? If so maybe trail tank can’t mock one up off a EJ
Diablo: different situation entirely. Will definitely need a UTV to do this. However, if under the passenger seat is also the same as a EJ, then the bandit aux is an option.
