Lets talk Paddles for Speed Cars

Those STU rears look aggressive but do you think it will be to much bite even with a 300HP tune? How are they on the stock tune? Granted you were at Pismo not Glamis so no real climbing but what about general acceleration.
They look aggressive but given that I had to drop air pressure from my initial setup I don't think they are too much. However, I didn't get top speed or any big hills climbs like I would in Dumont or Glamis so we will see. I'm not saying its the best setup just yet.

Did you measure the rollout front to rear? As you probably know you generally want a little larger rollout in the front if you run in 4WD.

The SS360s work pretty good. You can slide them around if you want. Running the front tires backwards helps.

I would look at the 33" Tensor tire set up or the 33" Packard paddle tire set up. I have friends that run them on their Pro R 4 seaters and 2 seaters and really like them.
Can you please explain the reasoning behind running the SS360’s backwards on the front. I just bought a car and it came with that tire all 4 corners. I’ve seen it done just never understood it.

Steering feedback. I ran the sand sport fronts on an x3 in 4wd and hated it. Turned them backwards and it was much easier to drive.

The paddle setup that nick/chupacabra has on his Speed at SSSS looks pretty good, but very wide and paddles look very aggressive, even for the Speed key.

Agree, 16 paddle plus the weight of that car will definitely suck the power out of that machine even with the speed key. Paddle tires are even a bigger argument than car brands and trying to convince people to go one way or another typically comes with heavy resistance. I would rather be a few paddles light over a few paddles heavy but that's just me. I like to carry as much speed as possible.

Thankfully they can be cut down pretty easy.

Agree. Can't wait for video. Personally, I'm not a 4wd duner so not a fan of the fronts.

Hopefully he'll have the speed key active as well, cuz that is for sure way too much paddle for stock tune.
Yes it sure is too much paddle for 225. Nick said he will be going to Havasu for the speed key as well as another change/upgrade but I forgot what that one was , I had a few adult beverages already in me 😂

I checked out the few Speed cars at the sand show that were in vendor booths. They had aftermarket wheels on them and no one could answer if the hubs are the same as the RZRs since the bolt patterns are the same.

Luckily, Chupacabra had his out there with what i feel is the perfect setup for the dunes. Price Designs did the wheels and STU paddles. I spoke with Price Designs at the show and went over the hubs. He said they definitely are different and had to custom make the ones for Chupacabra to fit proper and function. I also spoke with STU about the Blackbirds for the Speed. They feel with the size/weight of the vehicle plus with the speed key HP the #2 cut is perfect.

With the knowledge given to me from both manufacturers, i decided to purchase a custom set of wheels from Price Designs. He is also the only one with actual specs for the Speed cars other than those ugly KMC ones. I’ve listed the sand show price i paid for the set up with STU paddles. I did opt for the comp-cut on the rears. It’s about a 7lbs per tire that is trimmed off. That plus the lightweight wheels should make a great set up.

Small flex but I’m officially the first customer to purchase a set of wheels from Price Designs for a Speed. Chupacabra doesn’t count hahahahaha

That's a pretty penny you just spent on a sand set up. It is a great looking set up on the car but I hope it works out perfectly. What's your Master #?
Please provide some feedback from your ride.

Damn, that's a lot of cash for sand tires.

Master 391. So it’s who knows where at the moment lol. You pay for what you get, in my opinion.

That is very true... But hopefully you got what you need!
And your car is either on the water or about to be on the water this next week.

I’ll have the wheels and tires before the car hahaha. At least I’ll be ready, right?
