This would be so much fun to do. Only 75 spots available for those that want to join. Hopefully there are at least that many cars delivered by then? 🤪 Maybe if I join they can loan me a car. Lol.

75 is allot of Speed cars in a single race. I doubt they will get 1/3 of that to register for the event. I wonder what class the Speed cars will be in? Turbo? Noticed there is a new 4 seat UTV class which allows to bring the family along?? Not sure I’d want to do that? But there will only be 4 seat Speed cars out by October.

Would love to see at least 10 speed cars in it!
Would be nice to see at least the 500 + 9 more we all have been waiting on pins and needles 🤣. I just hope they got everything figured out and can get releasing the next batches with 1000-2000 all in process and ready to get buttoned up with the fixes. Been sooooooo long

I think they will have the 500 batch out by October race date so the 75 will probably fill up quickly. Who here plans on racing there speed car?

NORRA is expensive,
The 500, is going to cost you $5K minimum, They are never getting 75 folks to pump out that kind of money.
the 1000, will probably cost you around $10-$12K+ with hotel rooms, fuel, chase teams, entry fee etc......

Exactly!

A: They don’t even have enough cars delivered now to fill the 75 spots.

B: A very small percentage plan on racing their Speed.

C: They guys that want to race ordered El Diablos, not 4 seaters and we know the Diablo is way down the list to getting released.

D: Like said, racings not cheap, even if “support” is given for free.

E: You need to be prepping now for the October race, which is not just prepping a car, but putting your team together, getting hotel and accommodations booked. Putting chase support & trucks together with equipment, and the none existent spare parts. (That’s were Speeds support comes in)

I emailed Speed and told them if they could commit to an August delivery (as was the latest I’d receive it per their last emails) I’d register. Waiting on a response.

If they can do it I’ll get working on spare parts with them

Entry is ~2300 for the UTV class. Figure in $5k for spare parts (if it’s more than that it’s not getting fixed during the race) and another $8k for chase and hotel for everyone.

Well, I would like to in a sportsman type class but wife will only allow that after the 18 month warranty is lapsed lol 🤣

I hear ya loud and clear. In one of the interviews with TR, he said that the factory is able to pump out 2,000 cars per month. If all goes well from here on out, and it seems to be, I want to believe, then there should be many happy customers with cars this season. 🙏🤞🏽

I dont think that's a reasonable expectation at this point. Even if it was reasonable Speed isn't currently staff to handled that many cars. I know they will figure it out in due time but I doubt they will be able to get the expected 509 cars out before the end out the year. If they started today, its close to 4 cars a day or 20 a week. I hope I'm proven wrong, but I just dont see it given their track record.

By no means was I trying to insinuate that 2,000 cars would start to be delivered each month, just that the factory has that capability. I also don’t think they will continue to dribble out a few cars per month especially now since they fixed the biggest issue/ delay with the transmissions. Everything else seems to be a done deal with all cars receiving new brakes and belt shrapnel deflectors?

I think they feel very confident after their last Glamis test. Even TR said there’s nothing more to do. My thoughts are they had 700 engines and transmission all done about 2 months ago and I believe around 300 cars built? IM sure by now that number has grown. I just don’t see them shutting down the line just cause RG isn’t ready stateside. That’s why he went back there to facilitate the accessories and such so that when they do arrive, they’re pretty much ready to be picked up. So maybe 500 cars will start to show up in a month or two? Not only that but RG just posted about the support program for 75 cars at the NORRA. Why would he do that if he doesn’t have something big planned? Maybe I’m just delusional after a few beers and working in the hot sun. Wishful thinking perhaps.

Let’s read that out loud….wait for it. Don’t fall for it again.
‘I’m just being a smart ass as we all heard it before.

🤣 Saw that one coming a mile away. Good job @WildWest

I believe that is on one assembly line, I'm still hoping that the El Diablos get rolling on their own line and not waiting for all the El Jefe's and Bandits to be built.

Well no response on FB / Instagram that id register if they can guarantee my delivery, and none back on email either. Maybe I’ll hear back later today though. Funny about the delayed email responses because when I want to add an accessory I have an email back within an hour.

Interesting since I’ve been told June - August delivery since February of this year.

Once again RG is spouting off dates that he can't back up.
I plan on doing NORRA with my 4-seater but no way would I try it "straight out of the box". It is too big of an expense and too much work logistically to just piss away on a car that hasn't proved any longevity.
And for those who haven't done Norra, it is a blast (yes, I have a 1st place trophy in the garage). But it is not a Sunday cruise down Baja. It is a lot of work and takes a team to get it done.

I agree, I think the factory is pushing out cars. I talked to master I think #537 and T&R told him his car has been built with accessories. I would presume they're in the 600 master number by now if not more. Just need to get them here...
