Robby Gordon patents

What good is a patten, RG said he had the "shock on the lower a-arm" patented only to see the Pro-R now has it.

Guess by using a Clevis Polaris was able to get around that Patent. The Clevis is mounted to the lower Arm then to the shock. Seems like that’s enough of a change for the patent office?

Wonder what Can am will do to get around it once their new car/um I mean bike comes out. 😆

The patent forced them to jump through those hoops though - that's the point. If they want it bad enough they have to do some hokey bs. Its a bad design - even the one in the Pro R comparison video had an aftermarket piece. The stock ones keep breaking

Has anyone heard of robby sending any cease-and-desist letters yet? I remember there was an aftermarket company that made a similar engine head as speed for Polaris or can am and he pointed it out in one of his videos. Did anything become of that?

Making a guess here.
The shock connection to the lower A-Arm is nothing new.
Only RG, by using the offset A-Arms, can use the full-length shock without having it sticking a foot out of the hood.
On the Pro R setup, they have to use a relatively short shock and, to get full suspension travel, it has to be connected to the lower A-Arm further inboard.
And that puts greater bending loads on the arm due to the longer lever outboard of the connection point.

Exactly. Or they can just pay royalties to RG to use his license/ patent. That’s why it’s funny when you hear people say this car will be outdated by the time it comes out. How, if he has patents that protect him?
