Robby's IG Live Videos from NC

Dudes in over his head. He needs to stop making plans for things that may never happen and focus on what's happening. He dug the hole of preorders and he had better full them extremely soon before the product becomes less viable. I am 90% sure can am jumped on the +1000cc bandwagon, and as important as a good chassis is, horsepower sells. It's what first sold me on Speed, but that was 3 years ago. Polaris caught up in the hp game and I bet can am beats them.
I'm discounting the speed key, but for the price of a speed key you can easily tune the can am for more, or intake, exhaust, tune, etc the Pro R for decent gains at similar pricing.

He is filling preorders soon. 200+ cars on the water with 150+ ready to ship.

All the while, he is also working on the 1000cc+ engine. I'm not complaining by any means. I'm looking forward to Speed's 1000cc+ offerings!

Evidently you have no comprehension on what drives this 'Dude'
Also, don't mix OEM HP and what can be done by the after marked.

I’ve been saying that for years now. He REALLY needs to focus on one thing and IMO he will destroy Can Am and Polaris, but that’ll never happen because he always in way over his head.

I’m not a sand guy so HP is probably 4th or 5th on my importance list. I ordered 38 months ago because of his chassis/suspension designs and still stand behind what he’s doing as I feel it’s leaps and bounds above the others. But more importantly the car needs to be as reliable as the Polaris cars I’ve owned.

I asked the wifey to send these videos to me so I could share with the rest of you that don't have IG like me.

That's a really nice facility and will serve Speed well for many years to come. That's gonna be a great facility for producing high performance engines for customers who have larger competition vehicles (SST, Baja, etc.). I like the fact that Speed continues to grow and diversify as diversification creates a broader and stronger foundation as a company. I view that level of stability as a benefit to its customers. Producing utv's is only a part of what Speed Unlimited is involved in, and the company will hopefully continue to branch out and grow like a healthy tree.

As for the utv portion of their company, as @gonzalez.michael1 stated, there are over 200 utv's currently on the water, and those cars are expected to arrive in about three weeks. That's cool. I see that as the beginning of a continual stream of utv's arriving stateside as long as all of the needed materials for the utv's continue to be available for the manufacturing process.

Why are so many folks crying over more HP already? Is it cause the 2 giants have already exceeded the Speed 225 HP? Kawi just announced a new boosted 4 seater to be released soon? Yeah I get a few of you dont care about HP, but I am betting 75% of Speed owners bought it for the 300HP Speed Key as well as the well designed car. Not only that but early vids with Speed Team (Tony) boasting that the stock motor can easily handle more. WELL the car has not even proven itself yet without blowing belts! How can you want more HP when all you will be doing is blowing belts?!!! If true and 200 cars are going to be here in a few weeks, I will also bet 100 of those will be hitting the dunes and we will quickly see how many belts will be getting chewed up and spit out. Coyne and Vendors better have some serious stock of belts for them.

Nobody has exceeded Speed's 225hp yet.

Polaris matched it with their 2000cc NA Pro R
Can-Am hasn't released the 2024 numbers and the 2023 numbers for the 1000cc turbo are only 200hp.
Kawi hasn't released their numbers either. Their current 1000cc NA car has 112 hp!

I'm looking forward to running the E85 and Speed Key for 300hp. Not very useful in the desert but should be noticeable in the dunes.

I think it’s because it’s about the power to weight ratio. The beefiness is good but 225hp to push 2600lbs in the dunes is asking a lot and not everyone one wants run e85. I don’t think anyone including Speed expected it to be that heavy.

Popping belts was my biggest concern with the Speed cars when reports of popped belts seemed rather prevalent. That was back when high belt temps were being reported. Since then, Speed has implemented an improvement that brought belt temps down into the normal range. I do not know what they did, but apparently it worked based on comments from the Speed team as well as comments from customers who have Speed cars. Hopefully that change, whatever it was, mitigated the belt issue. And although I'm not a duner (I've done it and it doesn't really ring my bell), I totally agree with you that getting a bunch of Speed cars blasting around the dunes will be an excellent belt test.

Vanity drives him. And it's a fault. You don't see popo and can am execs talking smack and talking about all the cool stuff they're planning to do - they just do it. Yes, I know they are way behind in the chassis design segment, but they are overtaking speed in the hp sector before Speed even has more than a handful of cars in customer hands.

Agree on chassis design. It's the only thing keeping me on board. But I do also dune, so hp is equally important to me.
I really hope they get the speed key tune sorted out before dune season(IMO, this should have been sorted out a year ago!), because that was the first thing that got me on board. Without it, I might have never preordered.

Polaris and CamAm are also publicly traded companies so don’t need to be a the well built business. They are in the making money business. Just need to build to minimum to sell and make profits and let the aftermarket take care of the rest. They only need to focus on hp because that what sells the most to make money for investors.

Those are just words.
I trust his words 🙏 <<This much. He has yet to accomplish what he said he'd accomplish when he said he would, so I'll believe it when I see it.

Agree pretty much. As stated, I wouldn't have even put down the deposit without the speed key option. But it seems they have made improvements in the clutching area, and hopefully belts won't be exploding like you fear.

Who is making a 200hp 1000cc turbo sxs in 2023? Polaris is only 925cc and like 180hp, and can am is only 900cc.

Semantics, the Polaris 925 and CanAm 900 fall in the 1000cc turbo class of UTV motors. The Pro R enters into the 2000cc realm (its a 1997cc, since you like being exact).

And Speed makes a 225hp 999cc turbo, as we all know.
