I found this on a local page where I live. It appears to be legit. I'm not sharing this to bash another company I just found it interesting. I can see why Speed isn't rushing hundreds of car out to customers. Releasing a few out makes finding and solving problems a lot more manageable. I know part of the delays are still dealing with logistics and getting dealers set up but if something like this was to happen it would be devastating to the company. I'm fine waiting for my car vs. having it and not being able to use it.Screenshot_20230712_181446_Facebook.jpgScreenshot_20230712_181727_Facebook.jpg

RG said he was going to have 10 or 20 test mules running around before customer deliveries.
I guess the test mules were just the early buyers. LOL
34 to be exact. 😉 And I don't think any of the early buyers have a problem with it. However, I like to refer to them as pioneers......SPEED pioneers if you will. 😄

And I for one greatly appreciate them for doing what they have done, and continue to do, to pave the way for the rest of us. 👍

So I have a friend with a 2021 XP Pro and he’s been apart of the fuel fitting and fuel pump stop ride recall. He was referred to a lawyer who had been collecting settlements from Polaris. He ended up getting $6500 and the attorney took the rest, which I’m not sure what that was? Guessing a third or half the original settlement fee. $9500-$12,000

I was told that was why Polaris set up a direct phone line you could call if your under the stop ride and get a settlement check from them in a few weeks. They figured it’s cheaper to just pay out like the check above and save all the legal fees per each complaint. Plus it will eliminate you from any future class action suits, which we heard are coming.

I want to say my friends 21 XP Pro has had 3 recalls. The fuel pump fitting took Polaris months to find a fix and then a couple months for the dealers to get parts and make the repairs.

Well stated! 👍

I understand the test mules. Or pioneers and was stated lol. It’s a smart move. But if that was the case then speed should not have promised cars by a certain time to everyone else. When you hear from Robby or Todd that cars are coming, ie 4000 pre orders filled in 6 months. People take that to heart and sell the vehicles they have so they are ready when they get the call. And before anybody says never take the speed deliveries to heart, I get it I have been following them closely since the beginning and I know about all the delivery estimates. But if you don’t know for sure they are coming then don’t tell people anything so they can continue to ride and not miss seasons. I have heard many people miss multiple seasons because they kept stringing everyone along. If it’s still a year or two out then be honest so people can still enjoy the thing they love to do until their speed gets here. Not a hater I have one on order and think the car is amazing from what I have seen up close but more and more people are getting frustrated with the missed delivery dates!

Not sure what this comment has to do with the settlement checks Polaris is offering and issuing for their recalls.

But yes Speed has missed expected rough dates they have said. This is not new news. The Speec team is learning as they go. I feel like they get told things from their partners and with the pressure they receive from the public and deposit holders they feel the need to say something. But then things change behind the scenes and those dates don’t happen. Future builds and releases will be much different as you won’t know about it until It’s unveiled.

Ok so back to the original topic of Polaris issuing settlement checks for those involved in their recalls, stop rides and soon class action lawsuits.

That will never happen with RG. He needs all the pre-sales, deposits & accessories funds coming in.
No he won’t once they have these first 3 models in full production and on dealer floors producing revenue for the company. They started with nothing (so to speak) they needed deposits to show proof of concept and value of the company for investors. Deposits show units sold, brought in some cash flow revenue. Which gave the company an overall net value and shows the demand for the product. Just on the 4,000 units sold under a deposit (Not including dealer commitments) but 4,000 units at $30,000 ea is $120,000,000. Now Speed could tell the bank and investors we have a value of $120 million in expected sales.

It would not surprise me for Robby to show some sneak peaks of what’s being working on or coming. But I’m pretty confident you’re not going to see regular updates, or deposit’s requested. Especially once dealers get in the mix as Speed will want to focus all sales through a dealer network and not directly from the manufacturer. I honestly think this is why dealer activation has not happened yet. The cars being released are direct to consumer, unless the dealer placed an order in the early days, like Coyne who committed and bought in on the first day. But the dealers are not getting any revenue as my purchase was not through them.

This is also why I think Speed should look at giving a dealership some sort of delivery/pick up fee or something, so that the dealership can make a few dollars and this would then let Speed UTV do customer deliveries via the local Speed dealer, as originally planned. If I was a dealer I’d want this as it activates my dealer as a Speed UTV dealership. It initiates the dealer with a Speed UTV customer for future sales, service, warranty or recalls. And this would be a great marketing tool to advertise and get walk ins to come see a Speed UTV if they have not seen one. (Even though the car is sold) But for reasons I don’t know, this has not happened yet??

I’d have Speed Energy, Speed Tools, Speed RC, Speed apparel in those committed dealers now, so they are selling something Speed related and getting those walk ins.

Honestly, it's good to hear Polaris is paying customers even if it's forced. This will hopefully push them to improve their QC and produce a better more reliable product for customers. However, a class action suit could force them to stop producing a product which could result in a mixed bag for customers.

I have never doubted Robby for one minute from the beginning I'm waiting with no regrets because i know what I'm getting Diablo #1495 , will be what i wished others manufacturers could have done but didn't and We keep buying there machines and tear off cages (it blow me away how cheaply and unsafe it was made) seats, wheels , tires, shock revalve, doors, ect, ect. not mandatory but i had to Axles, primary and secondary Clutch, ect, ect, pile them in the back of the shop like i did , don't get me wrong i am still driving and having fun in RZR and plan on keeping it, what Robby , Todd and team have done to this day is Amazing, it take this long for manufacturers just to come out with a new model. And this is a from the ground up game changing company, it's apparent many customers do not see or understand the difference between the way a Speed is built compared to other manufacturers , the details are are very costly and high grade ,
Robby Thank You for changing our sport for the better .
