It's not a big deal guys, Speed is producing 80 cars per day and will only delay your Diablo by a couple days.... (end sarcasm).

At this point, I believe Speed is getting near the finish line and floundering like a fish out of water.

Where did you hear they are already at an 80 car/day run rate?
If that is indeed true, then I'm starting to get excited! If it is true, I can understand the switch over to bandit "real quick" before changing up the production line to El Diablo, since it's almost literally just a matter of deleting a couple doors and a few bars of the chassis.

Originally, it was supposed to 80 cars per day. I missed adding some sarcasm to my post, apologies on that one.

If Speeds goal is 12K cars by end of year, that would be about 44 cars per day (non-stop production).

I'm trying to wrap my head around this. Another change in production plan. IIRC It was originality 400 El Jefes followed by El Diablo. Then it changed to two runs of 400 to clear the 500 number for production racing class. And then it went to an undisclosed amount of El Jefes, still with the Diablo next in line. It was reported from the beginning that they had sold very few bandits but now plan to run bandits after jefes. My assumption would be to sell more of a model that they haven't sold many of. Diablo customers are already trapped and now they can attract additional customers that don't want to wait. I'm hoping they shed don't light on the situation. I'm not trying to wait for a 2026 Diablo

My understanding from a few live shows ago is they are running bandits on the same production line as el jefes before retooling for diablos. I'm sure this makes diablo pre-order folks agree since they were sold on a different expectation. However from a production, time, and money standpoint it makes sense. It's not the first or the last time Robby will do something different then he said. As Robby told me "things change"

They are building Bandits next for two reasons.

1. The Bandit is a El Jefe without the two back seats, 24" out of the cab. Everything else is the same so the one assembly line can build either.

2. There are very few Bandits on order and they should be able to build all of the customer cars in less than two weeks.

If I was a betting man, I would bet that they setup a second assembly line just for El Diablo's. Speed has 20,000 car's on order and one assembly line isn't going to cut IMHO.

I'm with you on that.
Except, I believe that they will build a minimum of 500 for homologation.

When I was at the Havasu Speed shop on Fri Feb 17 (I live in Havasu and I have an El Jefe on order), I asked Conner Gabrielson (my Speed rep) if he had any info on the status of the Bandits and the El Diablos. He said they are currently tooling up for the El Diablos. He said that the El Jefe and the Bandit are essentially the same minus the back seat area of the El Jefe. He said the plastics are identical for those two models. Hearing him say that helped me better understand why Speed recently announced that they plan to start producing Bandits rather than El Diablos. It's because they are already tooled up for the Bandits (same tooling as the El Jefe). It's the El Diablo that's the odd duck. Since Conner said that they are currently tooling up for the El Diablo, it sounds to me like El Jefe and Bandit production will continue full steam ahead and not be affected by the tooling up for the El Diablos because that tooling up is already happening separately and concurrently. It sounds to me like they might end up having two separate production lines going at the same time.....one for the El Jefes and Bandits, and one for the El Diablos. If that is true, then it sounds to me like producing Bandits will not affect the timing of El Diablos since El Diablos are on their own separate track. (y)
